Experience Requirements
Four year degree in an environmental or safety area. Minimum of five years related experience in manufacturing environments.
 
Qualification Requirements
An excellent facilitator who is experienced in resolving conflict between different parties. Strong consultative relationship building with leaders and employees. Ability to establish credibility and get along with diverse personalities, tactful, mature and flexible. A decisive individual who possesses a results oriented focus but can also balance the needs of the business with the needs of the individual. Resourceful and well organized. High energy level, comfortable performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with day to day activities. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employee groups and/or management at all levels of the company. Ability to create and maintain highest levels of confidentiality when dealing with proprietary information and sensitive situations. Excellent computer skills (MS Word, Excel & PowerPoint) a must. Persistent walking/carrying. Consistent use of stairs. Intricate nature of work requires vision of 20/20 with or without corrective lenses. Frequent use of telephone and viewing of a CRT. Extended amounts of sitting. Ability to travel via air and overnight stays when required.

Responsibilities
Based in PA, this position is the site Safety officer in Lancaster, PA but is also the division safety coordinator for US locations. Establish consistent procedures and processes across the OEM locations in North America, working directly with site HR to create, deliver training for OEM employees. Work in conjunction with Corporate EHS staff to bring consistency throughout TFX facilities. Formulate general EHS policies and measures to be followed by OEM personnel. Inspect OEM facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, and recommends preventive and corrective actions. Develop policies and procedures in the areas of safety, health, pollution abatement, and environmental management. Provide employee training to satisfy all EHS regulatory requirements. Maintains all reference files per applicable laws or regulations for EHS. Participates in the investigation of accidents and injuries and cooperates in the preparation of material and evidence for OEM use in hearings, lawsuits and insurance investigations. Represents OEM at all hearings, legal actions and legislative meetings. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations including but not limited to: New Source Review; NPDES Permits (Wastewater and Storm water); RCRA, CERCLA and EPCRA; etc. Primary contact for outside associations or government agencies concerned with EHS activities. Repares, studies, and analyzes root causes of industrial accidents, health hazards, or environmental hazards to track performance or provide information to OEM Management or outside agency usage. Direct the maintenance of appropriate records, as required by regulation or by Teleflex Corporate Policy. Performs other duties as assigned by management.
